Probably not. Someone I know would say that if you let that get to you, then you're not going to make it in life.

I would rather the deaths didn't happen, but I cannot pretend I am nearly as affected as any of the guests here.

Well, comparing yourself to other people will usually lead to that.

Someone could say they're really mean compared to their friend, but if their friend is the nicest person around, then that's kind of a given.
