[SO MUCH CLEANING but he understands why, like half of the house burned. Thnx Lio.]

Yeah, now that the pyrotechnics are done.

[Time to walk around the pond! Hopefully the ducks are ok.]

You wanted to talk at the trial, right? About what I believed in.

[Good ducks, not being afraid of dragons or anything.]

Well we haven't really talked much before, so there's plenty you have to learn about me.

[And boy is Chuuya self-centered enough to talk about himself at length!]

You can ask, sure. But before I explain, how much do you already know about me? Have you girls been eavesdropping on my conversations with the others?

Yeah? if I was in your position I'd totally spy on everyone to get their juicy gossip.

[It's a good thing Chuuya isn't one of the housekeepers here.]

So, you three didn't write those profiles, huh? Any idea who did?

It makes sense, yeah. They're the one who invited us, after all, they'd have to know about us to do that.

But you know, I'm a bad guy in my world. That's why I think differently from the others here.

It was more like a gang of kids, and I wasn't really the leader. I was just the strongest, so everyone looked to me when there was trouble.

[But that's in the past, so yay.]

I was never a good leader anyway, I don't know why they wanted me to be one.

If I had an answer to that, I'd probably stop making shitty life choices.

[Like murdering a girl over fake motives.]

Yeah? Is it someone I already know?

[Since he. Knows the deda are a thing, but he's not directly saying that.]

I guess I'd like a friend, a real friend, But I know how rare those are.

[Oho, that sounds like a mystery. Chuuya files that information away for later.]

Akira seems dead set on proving he's my friend, but it's hard to forget all the times I've been let down by other people. I've got scars from getting knifed by people I trusted, it's hard to forget that.

Yeah, he sure is. I guess I could count on him specifically to not backstab me. Though there's only so much he could do if I got infected.

[Which is his main worry.]

Dunno. I didn't look at my DVD. It's like I said at the trial: I killed so the people I care about didn't have to become killers.

[personal profile] shortforever 2020-03-23 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[Look. He's not about to admit that he was scared of looking at that DVD and finding it blank because he has nobody to care for. Or worse, that he might have seen Akira or Ayabe or something.]

...

[He stops walking and glances away, over to the duck pond.]

It's not that easy, alright? I care about some people, sure, but it's all shallow. They don't know the half of who I am, and if they did they'd probably give up on me anyway. Just look at how they all acted at the trial, they were ready to lock me up like an animal or something.

No.

[The answer is immediate.]

Even if I know now it was a bad idea, at the time I had every reason to believe the motive was legit. And I'd rather be a killer than any of the softies here.

Getting reminded of the fact that there aren't second chances for people like me was like a slap in the face, that's all.

Because Beau found the camera at the last moment. If she hadn't, I would've been voted instead. Not that I blame them, I did murder and all, and it would've been better to vote me than someone innocent.

[He had actually been about to demand people vote for him over 45, even.]

But I'm not stupid enough to think they would've given me the same thing Lio got either.
