PROFESSORS & THE DOCTOR

It's an ordinary Monday. Whether you rose with the sun or enjoyed a little lie in, the day proceeds as it has just like the days before it. However, sometime in the early afternoon you soon feel an increasing sense of curiosity that compels you to open the nearest door. No matter where you are, this door leads you to a small, cozy office. The fireplace crackles, soft lights illuminate the furniture around the room, and the three members of Master Blue's staff immediately rise to their feet.

ROLE INFORMATION

As the Doctor:
Every Monday, the Doctor will meet with the staff and be given the opportunity to grant two players protection for the week. One name may be submitted to protect a victim from a monstrous foe, and the other name may be submitted to protect a victim from a kill by human means. The Doctor may not grant these two forms of immunity to the same person, however.

Should the Doctor choose to protect someone and that person is selected as a victim, the Doctor's name will be provided as the victim and they will be given the change to fight back against the killer. They may or may not survive this encounter.

The choices must be made at the time of the meeting. The Doctor only gets one meeting per week and they must choose wisely who they wish to protect. The Doctor also has the option not to submit their choices.

As the Professor:
Professors will be allowed to choose one guest to learn of their whereabouts and ongoings in the mansion. The Professors must agree on who this person is, as they are only allowed one choice per week. Once the Professors have selected a pick, the staff will provide them with a list of guests their pick has spoken with in the past week, locations they have visited, and other relevant information.

Professors will also be able to send one anonymous message to one guest in the game per week. This person may not be the same as their other pick, and the Professors do not have to agree on a recipient. Should a note not be sent that week, the opportunity will be lost.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

The Professors & the Doctor will be allowed to ask questions about the ongoings of the mansion. They will also be able to receive small hints should they perform well, including game mechanics, locations and more. However, the staff have final say as to what information is shared. Be sure to pick your questions wisely!

While teamwork is encouraged, it's not required. That decision is up to you.

But alright. Both are a good bet. I doubt either of them would be too helpful with the note.... I think Hunter's a good suggestion for that.

[ since he doesn't have rabies. ]

I agree. We will need to request that he shares the contents of the note before Friday, but Hunter is currently the most trustworthy person in this mansion.

[slobjection]

We'll include it in the letter, then. The best bet is to make it publicly known, so we can waste less time in the trials.

[miscakes]

... Ah, that reminds me. The others wasted too much time discussing whether or not being "happy" [AIRQUOTES] makes you less susceptible. We need to rectify that, before they take that theory too seriously.

[slobjection]

Oh... that.

[ people get stuck on the weirdest things here. ]

Sounds like we a have a lot to cover this time around.

[miscakes]

Sounds like it. We should take the time to ask the sisters about the notes we received from the dead, as well... And discuss any correspondence from Master Blue. You wrote back to them, didn't you?

[It's IC week five and people are just getting more desperate, man.]

Actually... on that note.

[ shows him a note, rewritten by phoenix in blue crayon. ]

This was one one of Master's Blue research notes. The handwriting fits, too.

Master Blue seems pretty preoccupied with matters of the house.

[ focus on the contents ]

They could stand to pay more attention to what they're doing at the moment.

[UV INK????? Okay. Fine. He rereads it, frowning.]

... There's something they're trying to fix, but they keep failing. All the previous guests died because of it, I assume. [...] Have you taken a look at the letters we received from the dead? One interpretation is that the house itself is trying to "eat" us.

Yes, that seems to be a common theme with our ghostly friends. [ house vore. ] The house itself acting out when Blue tries to stop it would make a certain kind of sense... if you think about what's happening, here.

[miscakes]

So, the house itself is our enemy.

[That's... um. Yikes.]

I wonder if a place like this has a core we can steal. [Ah.] The heart or soul, so to speak... If the house is truly alive, then it must have the same weaknesses as every other living being. There must be something critical that it simply cannot live without.

[slobjection]

Yep. It's got a pretty big advantage over us, at that.

Wonder how many floors we have to go through to get to the "heart"... so to speak. Maybe that's the part of it that's alive.
