DOCTECTIVES 2.0
PROFESSORS & THE DOCTOR
It's an ordinary Monday. Whether you rose with the sun or enjoyed a little lie in, the day proceeds as it has just like the days before it. However, sometime in the early afternoon you soon feel an increasing sense of curiosity that compels you to open the nearest door. No matter where you are, this door leads you to a small, cozy office. The fireplace crackles, soft lights illuminate the furniture around the room, and the three members of Master Blue's staff immediately rise to their feet.
"Hello everyone!"
ROLE INFORMATION
As the Doctor:
Every Monday, the Doctor will meet with the staff and be given the opportunity to grant two players protection for the week. One name may be submitted to protect a victim from a monstrous foe, and the other name may be submitted to protect a victim from a kill by human means. The Doctor may not grant these two forms of immunity to the same person, however.
Should the Doctor choose to protect someone and that person is selected as a victim, the Doctor's name will be provided as the victim and they will be given the change to fight back against the killer. They may or may not survive this encounter.
The choices must be made at the time of the meeting. The Doctor only gets one meeting per week and they must choose wisely who they wish to protect. The Doctor also has the option not to submit their choices.
As the Professor:
Professors will be allowed to choose one guest to learn of their whereabouts and ongoings in the mansion. The Professors must agree on who this person is, as they are only allowed one choice per week. Once the Professors have selected a pick, the staff will provide them with a list of guests their pick has spoken with in the past week, locations they have visited, and other relevant information.
Professors will also be able to send one anonymous message to one guest in the game per week. This person may not be the same as their other pick, and the Professors do not have to agree on a recipient. Should a note not be sent that week, the opportunity will be lost.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
The Professors & the Doctor will be allowed to ask questions about the ongoings of the mansion. They will also be able to receive small hints should they perform well, including game mechanics, locations and more. However, the staff have final say as to what information is shared. Be sure to pick your questions wisely!
While teamwork is encouraged, it's not required. That decision is up to you.

But?

We... got a message from him on Friday... that told us who was attacking him...

It was just a jumbled mess, but... Akechi and I were able to decode it. We knew it was a dragon. And we knew it was Lio.

... But you couldn't just outright say it was him. Because that would've been suspicious.

She'll just. Nod.]

I'm working on it.

I... don't want you to think we had never intended to share at all. We did our best to try and, um... guide the trial in that direction. I had intended to fabricate something about the phone if we had really been on the wrong track. A, um... half-truth, I suppose.
no subject
But I'm with you, okay? You don't gotta explain yourself to me. [ she rubs at her neck. ] What half-truth?
no subject
Anyway, um... it mostly had to do with the message that was sent. Since it was invisible to everyone else, there's no way for us to show it. So I figured I would pretend that the phone was a special item, like the ones that have saved lives. I would lie and say that I had recieved text in my mind, like a dream of sorts, and that I had known it was from Phoenix, as I was familiar with the phone. From there, I would have implied that I had told Akechi about my suspicions before the start of the trial, and that I had asked him to investigate due to him experience with the subject, as I'm not... um... a very forward person.
It would clear suspicion from the phone, and from Akechi, and it would catch our culprit, so long as people did not assume I was lying.
no subject
... That's a good idea, yeah. I'll keep that in mind if any of us end up kicking the bucket.
Speaking of ideas. I'm not super in contact with either of you publically, so I'm gonna keep that going. I'm sure we're all gonna get to know each other real well whether we like it or not, but I'm good at pretending.
no subject
... That would risk exposing you as well if anyone found your phone, Luna.
[Anyway—]
But should anything happen to us in the future, we can take a page out of Phoenix-san's book.

... You will see after we have done our check, Beauregard-san. But as part of our special privileges, we can send and receive messages using our phones. No one else is able see them. There was nothing we could say early on without drawing suspicion to ourselves.
no subject
Can you teach me how to use the phone?
no subject
It's an older model than what I'm accustomed to, but we will teach you everything we know. It's rather intuitive once you know the basics.
