Ken also being older than his actual age and not a mess of emotions or hot headedness like a lot of the other teens/adults was also nice for him. So he really appreciated Ken a lot more than he ever let on.
The night before their execution where Ken said he would like to think of them all as friends was something huge because Dazai doesn't do friends and he decided that in that moment that it's okay to do it just that once. And he wound up showing a side to Ken, Ayabe, and Chuuya that he normally never did. Ken has his trust.
Basically Ken is a good and managed to slip into a space no one else has before and even if they haven't shared a lot, there is respect there.

Okay okay. I'll try to put this into words.
Ayabe started off as an easy source of entertainment. It was the first time Dazai ever had anyone try to care for him without any ulterior motives (besides Ayabe's weird need to nurture people to make up for leaving his siblings). So he would do everything to like avoid letting Ayabe take care of him or to distract Ayabe. He also never read the roommate rules either deal with it.
Slowly, between getting used to sleeping beside him and having him around, he started to trust the other. It was the emotion sharing week that he started to move from easy entertainment to something more. Dazai even let him take off his bandages to see what was under there, which is a big deal even if he tried to make it out like it wasn't.
It was just before execution that he realized that Ayabe some how slipped into a category adjacent to Chuuya where he can actually feel something because of him. Dazai is Dazai so friendship isn't something he's familiar with, but it's something around there?
It wasn't until the graveyard that he realized just what Ayabe's presence could have meant to him. He went from having some warmth in his life and gaining a spot of happiness to nothing. Which started to set him down "if i want this or even if we even come back, it's just going to get taken from me." Ayabe and Chuuya's adorable confession further hammered that in to where whatever place he had there with them could easily be filled by the other. He was no longer needed or wanted, and whatever left was just guilt over his death and just whatever false attachment that was forced on them from circumstances.
It's actually thanks to Anya persistence that he kept the ounce of seeking physical contact from others or that he didn't shut down completely cause he came pretty close because gestures at his life and everything
Then he had a whole anger at Ayabe's death and hated it. Also felt things about Chuuya examining his body and still wants to say as much to Chuuya but that also risks coming off like he cares, which he can't because he's stupid.
With Ayabe in the GY, he felt like he regained part of his happiness and it's both good and bad cause he still wants to yeet but also he wants to take more and more of it to see if he can feel something or find a meaning of life outside of the path of bloodshed he was already trying to walk on. Which is what inspired him to ask for a kiss.
He's still split on the whole feelings are dumb and i'm just going to be disappointed again/it's going to be taken from me if I try to reach for this and I want to take more and more and see what I can get away with or try to see if maybe this can be something more
Also idk why Ayabe wants to take him home, he's going to either shove himself between the two because he's a selfish gremlin who is seeking the attention and will do stuff to get Ayabe to drop shit or spend time with them.
Also may ask for another kiss because it did feel nice and his brain did shut down for a moment.Dazai might not be able to feel love yet, but he could eventually love Ayabe if they manage to keep him. At the moment it's still very ???? territory.
