Now it's time to word vomit on you SO HERE GOES. BUCKLE UP.

Mammon naturally was drawn to Melt in the beginning because she was someone that he saw as another non-human. Not to say that he doesn't like humans, but he's really not used to them and in the beginning he was already getting some backlash about him stating that he was a demon (like people not believing him) so he was like!! Great!! IDK who or what this girl is but she's someone I can talk smack about humans about without anyone getting on my case! Mammon was honestly just grateful to have someone who he could connect to with that and someone who wouldn't judge him, since despite how friendly he is, deep down he still has demon morals so he saw the murder game a whole lot differently than everyone else.

And....I do have to touch on it especially with their thread near the lake but Mammon did find Melt hot?? And then that encounter at the lake sealed the deal because unfortunately Mammon is Mammon, so her being like "I'm going to hurt you" just was like "WELL COULD YOU, I'D LIKE THAT". He's terrible. I hate that its canon he's a masochist. But! Even though I joked about it, Mammon is not All Horny, and really did already like her as a person from the beginning, and now it was more like "Wow! I LIKE like her now".

So that made it all the more surprising to him that she was that open to him in the ballroom, because like she was thinking, Mammon really did see her as this cool girl that he likes and not something horrible or monstrous. He wanted to connect, and in his stupid tsun way wanted to do something special for her, so her being receptive to that and reaching out to him was like wow!! Okay!! He really really REALLY likes this girl!! Even the human he's devoted to at home and pacted to had their attention set on his brothers sometimes more than him, and to have someone like him be noticed and wanted by someone he liked was unprecedented to him.

Finding out she was the leviathan shook him, but by that point it was too late. He, being the greedy demon he was, just wanted Melt completely, and there was nothing that could change his mind on that. Sure, she may have turned into a monster and ate a person's head, but he didn't care. She was his, and he was hers, and that was that. Of course, they both died, but that actually strengthened their relationship. Melt really pushed him out of his comfort zone with him having to be open about his feelings and even in the castle be able to say NO to wealth and riches to be with her which is like!! A SUPER BIG DEAL. HE LOVES HER SO MUCH HE'LL GIVE UP WEALTH FOR HER. IT LITERALLY GOES AGAINST HIS NATURE.

Melt is someone that Mammon will love forever, truly and sincerely. She could abandon him suddenly or turn away from him for whatever reason but he'll always be there for her. To him, seeing her happy is truly the best treasure a greed demon could ever have, and knowing that he makes her happy is nothing short of special. She's beautiful, she puts him in his place when he wanders, she listens to him and comforts him when he needs it, and he'd buy all the stars in the galaxy if she even said the word. They may never get married unless someone else pushes them into it, but what's the point? A ceremony won't tell them what they already know. He's devoted to her eternally and although they're apart, he will fight at every single chance he has to see her. Melt may be an Alter Ego, meant to go against humans, a sadist, a powerful being who melts people down with her poison, but to Mammon, Melt is Melt, and Melt is a person he loves with every inch of his heart and that? That's what matters.
