Oh, you're right, Minato and Clover were good together... that might have been the only ship I've ever written where both were good for each other. Despite who they are. Maybe I can write preestablished ships bc then I can skip over a lot of hurdles, vs having to establish ships which are 1000% guaranteed to be a mess
SubD Minato is happier and less self-destructive now, he'll be fine, it's all thanks to Four and her
SDFJSDLKFJSAL YOU'RE KILLING ME FOUR IS THE FAKEST BITCH ALIVE she was fake 95% of the time
BUT unfortunately, minato did get something genuine from four. it was just (makes a shaky hand gesture)
i did start the tl;cr comment for four -> minato in subd but my computer decided to turn off in the middle of writing it. i was three paragraphs in and lost everything and then i decided the world just didn't want to know
I watched the LP and played two games with your Four now and the entire time I just sat there nodding along at their threads... Minato takes everything at face value, that's my excuse for me doing the exact same thing
I got this out of the tl;cr and everybody has to see it, so this more than makes up for all those lost paragraphs, bless you Ara
It's my favorite. I have a "love meme" folder bookmarked with old love memes and tl;crs from past games that I occasionally open to read for something to smile about when I need a pick-me-up, and included in that folder is Minato's love letter to Hisoka and that thread includes this image
NO COME BACK Jin Ling was Ayabe's favorite person in murder mansion and here I will list the reasons why
1) he was awful
The moment they met, Jin Ling was a little shit and Ayabe was... a shit back, actually, now that I'm looking at their first thread, Ayabe did not last being a good boy for even a single day. But even though they bickered a lot, this was a point of familiarity and comfort for Ayabe from the get-go because to him, children are supposed to act like spoiled brats and Jin Ling is literally the only person here who acts his age. This was great. He loved and supported this. And so Jin Ling was the person Ayabe immediately projected his family on, somebody bratty and spoiled and has such a capacity to drive him up the walls, but at the end of the day, he loved Jin Ling because Jin Ling would still listen to him and learn from him and share things about himself. But what stood out to Ayabe the most is that him being rude and teasing towards Jin Ling at times did not drive him away, that Jin Ling kept coming back to him to ask for help doing things. It really didn't matter to him if Jin Ling liked him as a person or trusted him in any way; coming back meant he thought Ayabe was competent in cooking/mending/whatever it is he needed, and nothing makes Ayabe happier than being turned to and implied that he's doing a good job, even if he's grumbling outwardly about it the whole time. He got to feel like an onii-chan again, and he was a lot more genuine around Jin Ling than anybody else. Jin Ling kept coming to him and that made him so happy every time!!!!!!! even though I had to twist your arm into setting up a catchall in the first place by holding his bell hostage I am so sorry
rng memshares was me going "oh my god, Jin Ling is going to hate Ayabe forever and I'm going to lose Anna CR for the rest of the game" because family is such a huge deal for Jin Ling and Ayabe's backstory is all about how he ran away from his family and left behind the very thing Jin Ling always wished he had, and Ayabe immediately braced himself for cut off and screamed at for taking his family for granted or abandoning his siblings, etc, which were all things that constantly fed into the guilt that he lives with. So hearing Jin Ling advocate for him and his well-being instead of his siblings was very eye opening, and the moment where Ayabe first realizes that Jin Ling cares about him as a person instead of just saying that family is the number one most important thing out of principle. That conversation put a lot of things into perspective for Ayabe, because while he talked about this before with other people, it always ended up with him being in the wrong, with him going back to his family and returning to how things were before and nothing changing-- but Jin Ling called him stupid too and made the point that his siblings have to grow up someday, that he can't baby and spoil them forever no matter how much he wants to. He's going to be constantly disappointed by them when he finally goes home and sees that a year's passed since he last saw them and they're all still grossly incompetent, except for his youngest sister Kosue who is Trying and that's why Ayabe would kill for her
He wanted to be Jin Ling's onii-chan really bad... but instead he had to settle on being friends u_u A mutual relationship that's very novel for him because he's so used to being on the giving side of things and being able to take care of himself. It was constantly weird and oftentimes felt unnecessary when Jin Ling would take care of him but the clear mark of Jin Ling TRYING when none of his siblings ever bothered in the slightest is something that Ayabe appreciated a lot. Just watching him during his time here, he could see Jin Ling growing and trying all the time and Ayabe was very proud of him... he doted on Jin Ling behind his back... Some of that is the previous point where Ayabe sees no wrong in Jin Ling being a brat, because that's how his siblings act and his classmates and literally every person surrounding him because he goes to some run down delinquent school-- so bring spoiled and bratty is normal! picking fights with people is normal! one day he will sit down and realize that his siblings are spoiled brats because he was so lenient in raising them, but also "you had no mother to teach you manners" would apply to him and all his siblings because that's pretty much true, and Ayabe sure isn't the person to impart manners on anybody. So if people got on Jin Ling's case about being rude and picking fights and things like that, Ayabe just shrugs it off and takes it in stride bc that's how he's always been treated, this is normal. To him, Jin Ling sticks to his convictions and does things with confidence and doesn't back down and these are all admirable things. Stand up for what you believe in, fight for yourself, etc. ...Even if you're wrong. Ayabe is not a team player and people hate his general existence too, so he stans Jin Ling, honestly
Jin Ling is a good boy who did no wrong his entire time here, prove Ayabe wrong
i hated seeing this in my email and in my inbox SO MUCH i'm going to suplex ayabe he was a good horrible boy
what's very funny is that jin ling almost told ayabe if he had an older sibling he would have wanted it to be ayabe in their last pc, but then he chickened out so now ayabe will never know because you are running fastly from me
WHY DID YOU GIVE ME THIS UNDER MELT'S THING CARD I'M!!!!
I REPLIED HERE BECAUSE INSTEAD OF DOING THE SMART THING, WHICH WAS TO DELETE YOUR COMMENT SO I COULDN'T REPLY TO IT AT ALL, YOU REPLIED ANOTHER TIME AND I AM NOT ABOUT TO SQUANDER THAT CHANCE
also bold of you to mention this when it's my turn to tag that last pc and i could still pick the thread back up and haunt you forever until he says it to ayabe
