like 85% of the reason beau likes ayabe is because he's a rude little shit, and beau loves that. she loves when people are blunt and just say what they think, and ayabe CERTAINLY does. like from the very start he just was not having it with her trying to help him. but here's the secret - ayabe was the second person to get ride or die status from beau. he did it like, alarmingly fast, which is really hilarious. and it's because of the week 1 sunday pc we had, where she punched the stable and he immediately was like no?? don't?? and proceeded to mom the fuck out of her.
i feel like i've said this a lot in these tl;crs but beau doesn't get a lot of validation back home. her friends tend to kind of just brush past her emotions and they joke around a lot about how she's rude and awful and abrasive. and it's teasing, sure, but for beau, who grew up with a father who didn't really want or care about her past what she could provide reptuation-wise, it... hurts? and it reinforces a lot of beau's bad behaviors and her poor self esteem. so when people actually take the time to correct her on the bad shit she says about herself, it's surprising, and it makes her pay attention. beau told him she planned to give herself up to the mansion in order to let everybody else go free, and the magnitude of his reaction to that surprised the shit out of her. and he also refused to understand any of her self-deprication jokes, he was just like "idgi, you're great, why is that funny" and just utterly disarmed her. plus he cried about his family and immediately she soaked that up like, i will now do anything to make sure this child gets home to his cute siblings.
beau's an empathy sponge, i think - she doesn't always know how best to handle people when they're upset, but she takes it in on herself and it gets heavy. when people cry on her or trust her with their emotions, she takes it very, very seriously, and so she was determined to be there for him when he needed it, to the point of harassing him. see: sitting with him for 8+ hours in the blood room.
WHICH DETOUR HERE - ayabe fucking wrecked her when she couldn't convince him or get a promise out of him that he wasn't going to kill someone for hostage week, like - you broke her a bit, she lost her shit on NHS and i think other than hunter and phoenix's trial that's the most upset she's been in this goddamn mansion, so good job. that whole week was a nightmare.
so anyway - through this whole game she's tried to show him affection back, trying to make up the difference in how much she feels like he's done for her. she's wanted, since the start, to be cuddly and huggy with him like she has everybody else, but ayabe's prickly? and she doesn't like making people uncomfortable, so she tried to not drape all over him because she thought he'd hate that, but it was a fucking struggle. and it meant she had to come up with other ways to show him she cared so she brought him BREAKFAST. even if he laughed at her. she did laundry for him, because she knew it made him happy - she tried SO HARD to make things easier for ayabe and tried to make him laugh and make him feel like he wasn't alone after the memshare stuff, because it really hit her how lonely he must be even if he might not realize it. she knows how it feels to be on the outside of social circles because you're abrasive and so she kind of just. wanted to make him feel like he had a family away from home, someone he could rely on and someone he could trust.
There's always people waiting for you to let them love you. SHE REALLY MEANT THAT. she really means that a lot, ayabe has been a grounding force for her, a bit of balance to her chaos. and so him accepting her looking out for him gave her a goal, gave her something to work towards. getting to call him reito right before he fucking died horribly was also great, she's gonna carry that with her forever. they got the good end, she just - you know, she's trying not to file that under "this is why i shouldn't love people, because they die" so we'll see how that goes. but - yeah that got real rambly at the end wow.
basically beau loves ayabe very much, the rude little shit he is, and she hopes he'll let her visit him because she'll miss him too much if he doesn't. she'll cry if he doesn't. don't make beau cry.
