Beau is absolutely just Asch but with the "stupid dipshit asshole" levels toned down a little. Not all the way. But. Down, for sure.
So Beau being fightsexual and also having a slightly different yet similar set of morals didn't work super well for them, because they were just butting heads over things in a "do what i say not as i do" sorta situation for the most part. Both of them would definitely die for someone else if it accomplished something for what they perceive as the greater good, and think of themselves as Shit, and they both also hate anyone else doing that? So.
Asch personally was mostly just ired by Beau, and thought she was a dumb fisty lady, which is gross and improper, but also she was strong (stronger than him in fisticuffs at least), which was super annoying. Beau is 99% of the reason he wanted his sword back immediately. Not to like, kill her, but just beat the shit out of her. Because she was annoying.
But there's something to be said about sharing your feelings via beating the shit out of each other, and it's that there's a sort of peace in it, and you can see eye to eye a little easier with the other person. So Beau, while being a completely irritating existence, was also vaguely somebody he trusted with things. Sure, she was a gross, musclebound idiot of a womanchild, but they punched each other a lot. Someone who uses their fists to back up their words instead of pussyfooting around it can't be all bad.
