Hm! Dazai! To be honest, Brilith didn’t know what to make of him at first - she was pretty unsettled when he was telling her why he wore the bandages, let alone that he wasn’t sure if his boss was actually trying to help him when he recovered. Brilith! Did not get it! It made her more than a little worried for him! But she didn’t know how to even start helping him, either, so! What could she do, really?

After that, she looked at him as… kind of a hanger-on for Chuuya? lmao. They’d both hate that probably, but she really only started getting to know him better during the week she was strung red with Chuuya, and Dazai followed when he went to check up on Brilith. Watching them together, she thought, wow, they must be great friends! Because at that point, Brilith’s only experiences with friendship before the murder mansion were from books, and those said that friends were mean to each other. So by that metric, Chuuya and Dazai were great friends? Which was great! She was happy for them!

She was, however, incredibly embarrassed that they both came to spend curfew night with her and Mammon, just to make sure she was okay. Like, it was definitely appreciated, but also - wow, shouldn’t she be stronger than to need two teenaged boys looking after her? It made her feel a little guilty, especially when the attack on Mammon started right over their heads.

Dazai walking her back to her new bedroom after the execution was… also appreciated, and made her feel a little fonder of Dazai. It was sweet of him to do that, even without any connections (secondhand or otherwise) to draw them together? It was sweet. It proved he had a kind side, even if he didn’t want to show it off. I also just realized I accidentally dropped that thread and I’m sorry I can still tag it back if you want because I give zero fucks about backtagging and I love you Pan,

THEY ALSO WERE SUPPOSED TO MEMSHARE I THINK and I was absolutely going to give Dazai that one time Brilith was thisclose to dying in canon. Alas.

That said! She actually liked Dazai more than I realized, by the end! Whether he meant to or not, he helped distract her when she needed it most, and she felt like he was very nice to her when he had no real reason to be. And he’s fun? And funny? He’s a good boy to spend some time with! And she’s glad he’s friends/in a ship with Chuuya and Ayabe because the two of them could use someone like him, in her opinion, to remind them that they can take things lightly once in a while, and they can help balance Dazai out a bit and bring him back down to earth when he needs it. She stans the three of them and hopes they will all be very happy, wherever they go.
