The Master Bathroom turned into an underground bunker of sorts... there was a monster, and an infestation of little spiky guys.

...that's even more confusing than what happened in the closet. What spiky guys are you even talking about?

They like to stick to people to slow them down... I put them in the garden, if you're curious. They weren't harmful.

[Just a LOOK. She does not believe that but okay. Instead...there's a hum about the spiky guys.]

Just sticky then. [...] Did you tell Pumpkin at least?

They're this small... [ about marble sized... ] they actually helped us with the monster.

Didn't get a chance to yet. Hope she won't be too mad.... It's just a couple of them.

Cute...[Softly. But she'll nod anyway.] I doubt she'll be mad. As long as they don't harm the ducks or anything it should be totally fine.

We can go see them later, if you want.

They just like to stick to things. And jump.

Maybe later. The garden's pretty far...[Phoenix isn't allowed to move :|] I didn't even think the Master had creatures like that in the house. Unless they came from the house itself and you tamed them...but they sound harmless.

[ he's taking it easy like a good nick ] I wouldn't say tamed....... but yeah. Definitely different from the others I encountered and heard about.

I am curious about the locked rooms, though. Half of them seem to lead away to very sinister locations... I'm sure it's entirely the house's doing, but I wonder if they're all illusions or maybe its a sneak peak at what the house is, itself.

The rooms like to change to test guests, apparently. I keep hearing new stories every time you guys break in where you shouldn't.

[So...yeah.] It seems to be whatever the house thinks will make you guys suffer the most.

... I figured as much. But one of the ghosts told me there might be unintentional clues in those rooms, so I wanted to put that theory to the test.

Are all of the locked rooms completely controlled by the house, then?

[cluedin]

Not entirely. Sometimes Master Blue has some sway over them if we figure things out in time, but for the most part? It's the house and its own defense mechanisms. The rooms it picks aren't always the same either.

Master Blue always seems to be fighting the house to try to protect us... despite our recklessness.

[ self call out ]

So then the locked rooms are interchangeable? I've heard from guests that in some rounds, everything was locked.

[cluedin]

I told you guys a while ago. Master Blue doesn't purposefully want people being hurt.

But yeah, that's right. Some were wide open, some were totally locked up, and some just switch around. Every round of guests experiences something different.

Oh, I know. I underestimated just how hard they were working until I found out they're part of the house. They must have incredible patience.

Do you know if there was ever a room that stayed consistently locked? Or something the house was.... maybe a little more protective of?

[cluedin]

They've been doing this for a very long time. Most people get impatient with them, but you guys seem to be different.

[Hm...] I don't know about a room that was consistently locked, but there're rooms that consistently change. Does that count?

[slobjection]

I can't say we're the most patient bunch. But... I think these guys are starting to come around and understand Master Blue a little better.

[ hmmm ]

That's something. Do you remember them, offhand?

I hope you're right. [But she just...pauses.]

Nick, I think you know the answer to that. Even without me saying so.

If they get too rowdy with Blue, just call me and I'll scold them, too.

... I did figure they were the same rooms we had to break into.. but I was wondering what else they changed into, I suppose. Maybe they're all access points.

[cluedin]

There's only one access point. Always has been, it just...changes into whatever it feels like.

Hm... I was under the impression there might be another way in.

[ he kind of wonders how the house decides on its tests.... ]

The room of req-whatever is the one that's been most on my mind..... But maybe the changes to it themselves aren't relevant.

...what does your gut tell you, exactly?

That it's trying to throw us off and conceal its true nature, basically. Transforming into anything you want... that's a pretty convenient trap. Good way to keep people from looking too closely, too.

[cluedin]

Exactly. So, how would you go about breaking that trap and getting around it to see the truth?

Hmm, well the classic move I was taught is.... to turn things around.
