Not exactly. One has to build the strength of their golden core-- ah, it's what spiritual energy is channeled through. When it's strong enough, they don't need to eat or sleep to sustain themselves, and then that grows into immortality. Most of us already age more slowly, thanks to our cultivation.
...though, yes, it does take a strong will to reach that point. I really could never meditate enough.
[he perks slightly at that, because please, let something be similar to things he does understand for once in this place with all its ELECTRICITY and GUNS and RUNNING WATER and shit.]
In the sense that it's... something your Master did to be able to live so long, and not just naturally having a long lifespan? Or in some other way?
Master Blue is Master Blue. [Shrug!] the Master has studied many things over the years that it's almost guaranteed something has come up to aid in the extended lifespan.
exactly. we've all been around for a lot longer than most of you. we've tried a lot of different things...some stuck and others didn't. knitting, jewelry and candle making, martial arts, synchronized swimming...stuff like that
I know it's been mentioned that you're... sometimes able to see requests be honored, for--
[a pause, there, a furrow in his brow.]
For when someone is voted. Do they need to be made that same day, or are we able to ask in advance? [and since he may as well go ahead and explain:] Assuming one of us has to die and the other is still alive... Beau and I agreed we wanted to try to do that for each other.

[he should have learned more!! but the photographer did try to kill him, so.]
If it was that long ago-- your master's fairly old too, then?
no subject
but yes. Master Blue's even older than us! the Master has been the master of this house for a really, really long time.

[a little tilt of his head-]
Is it something like that?

You've been around for some time too, though-- what have you done with all of it?
no subject
no subject
...does it get lonely, though, between guests?
no subject
Sometimes, sure, but...we have guests quite often.

[there's a pause, there, as he considers something else.]
There's something else I wanted to ask you about. An arrangement I'd like to make, if possible.
no subject
oh? what kind of arrangement are you thinking?

I suppose the time doesn't matter much if the intent is there. but are you guys sure...? killing a friend is...rough.
no subject
[if he has to see one last person-- yeah.]
We've spoken about it-- I asked her if she was sure, and she said she was.
no subject
...should something happen to either of you, I'll honor the request.
no subject
[she gets a bow in response, formal, his hands clasped in front of him.]
I'm sorry to have to bring it up now, but- I really didn't want to risk being unable to ask it quickly enough later.
