[The group is split in half. Toi and Jin Ling struggle up the riverbank via scarf vines and Demon's waiting at the top, a friendly woof as he wags his tail. He wants to run, but he's politely waiting for the others. The shark wriggles under Jin Ling's arm, but it stays still for now.
The moment that Huaisang and Anya have picked their clothes and are fully dressed, and the moment they even begin to step outside, all four strangers will hear the blare of a war trumpet.
Panicked shouting rises around them, yells of the Fashion Queen's forces sneaking past the barriers set up by the King and a flurry of motion begins. All of the soldiers around the armoire begin to bolt for the battlefield, sweeping Anya and Huaisang along with them. It's a wide almost meadow at the bottom of the castle, a valley that separates them from the enemies that begin to appear in waves. Similar in design, their clothes are made of black tones only, little color in sight. Wielding swords, shields, and even some firearms, they stand at the edge of the barrier...before both sides begin to flood down to the field.
Huaisang and Anya will have to figure out a strategy for this surprise attack while Toi and Jin Ling hurry up. Think fast.]

[It seems as though knights and soldiers and the calvary are all crawling out of the woodwork, wyverns soaring overhead with riders and hundreds of people racing past right into the line of fire. The scissors seem to obey Huaisang's command, melding perfectly to fit his grip and currently in a single blade form. Yodel and Sniff bound toward Anya at the whistle, immediately waiting for Huaisang and Anya to mount them. As they jump onto the dogs' backs, both of them will notice that some things begin to shift.
Huaisang's robes become elongated, thin cable-like extensions coiled around his hands should he need to draw an enemy closer, and the necklace begins to grow a little warm. The scissors in his hand thrum in time with his heartbeat, and his jacket-shield becomes a shield of steel.
Anya's cape flutters in the wind and if she looks down she'll notice that she and her dog are a few inches off the ground and moving rather quickly. The jacket she's obtained is within reach, and should she choose to put it on the sleeves will unzip to reveal two small firearms. The threads in her pockets begin to also grow heated, a magical sort of energy humming through them. She may have to try to throw them to know what they do though.
Perhaps their other accessories also work in battle? They should be careful though; even running along the outskirts they will find themselves ambushed by a group of four enemy soldiers wielding weapons and immediately attempting to knock them off of the dogs.

Their jackets change colors and shape, locks and pockets appearing but they are unable to be opened quite yet. It seems like they're trying to decide what they're about to become.]

[He gives a shrill whistle so that Anya and Huaisang will know they are gunning into battle in that direction, too. He throws one knife at any of the attackers coming up on their flank.]

Sniff goes along but his snout starts to twist and turn, narrowing out almost to a point as a sound like an electric drill fills the air. The scissor blade immediately guts that soldier though, and as the life is drained from the enemy the scissors pulse a cheerful red as Huaisang feels himself growing stronger.
Still tremendously far away, Demon runs as fast as possible with two idiots on his back. They won't need to get another dog though because as they head right to the line of fire Demon begins to smoke and grow, almost to the size of a battle tank with shaggy dark fur and glowing yellow eyes. Demon crushes soldiers beneath his feet, and Jin Ling's knife drives straight into an attacker's eye as two wyverns swarm down to try and stop them from getting any closer. At least Toi can derail them with the staff.
The shark sits there. Innocently. Wriggling with its mouth shut and looking out at the world with its sad button eyes.
Anya tells Yodel to go high and suddenly the dog opens its mouth and lets out a supersonic kind of howl, the ground under their feet rippling with the force and Anya should hold on before she's jostled out of her seat. Her shots aim very well and she's able to disarm a few enemies. The sounds of the battle are drawing more enemies toward them as Huaisang and Anya are pushed toward the center. The enemy soldiers fight on and zip in, one attempting to cut the binding cloth of Huaisang's robes and another approaching from the front to slash with a sword.
He may not be able to see it though, but Anya sure can. Fabric slithers along the ground like snakes, ensnaring Huaisang's ankle as a soldier with an axe rushes right for him.]
no, the real problem is that it actually doesn't feel bad, which is more off-putting, in a way... but he has a feeling he's going to need to make use of that, with more soldiers moving in.]

[it's close though. to be in the thick of things, no longer flying, but well and truly in the middle. the rippling of the ground from yodel throws off her next shot for the man with the axe, missing, but she aims again, trying to be more accurate and -
there's a split moment of hesitation as she realizes that the axe is so close and no matter how much hunting she's done, it doesn't seem to prepare her to shoot to kill another human being -
but she pulls the trigger, because it's what she has to do to save nie, even if it puts her closer to the line of fire]
[Wow. Mr. O'Leary BIG. He tosses a second knife into one of the soldiers below.]
Sect Leader Nie! [Jin Ling is going to fucking ascend at this rate.] What is she doing?! Is she a lunatic?! [Leaning back, he takes up the shark and forgets the knives for now.] Demon! Go!
[Screw these knock-off Great Value dragons. He's going to unzip the shark's mouth and hold it up to shove it at any of them swooping down so it can BITE. He'll be careful with Baby Shark, though. Just... time to wield the babby.]
[There's now a giant splatter of blood flying across the field as Sniff drills straight into the soldier, spearing them and whipping his head back and forth to fling the body into the fray. Huaisang's focus is on the soldier attacking his armor (i.e. the robes) and the scissors pulse as if they want to split apart and do double damage. The blade's shining with the spilt blood of the enemies and as he slashes at the soldier with scissors a fatal wound slices through them.
The man with the axe is behind him though and Yodel listens to Anya, bashing through the battle and knocking men aside to give her a solid shot. The kickback of the gun occurs as she pulls the trigger, bullet flying straight for a headshot as the axe lands right into Huaisang's shoulder. The jacket, however, seems to protect him as its made of steel in the back and the vibrations of the hit shake him to the core so hard he may fumble and drop his weapon.
Toi and Jin Ling have a clearer sense of the battle field though as they run, drawing closer and closer. Toi can see that Anya's in the thicket, along with a heavily armored soldier on a pegasus drawing near her with their sword drawn, ready to strike as they close.
Jin Ling unzips the shark's mouth and holds it up! It doesn't quite bite, but it opens its jaws and the kickback slams into Jin Ling's chest hard enough to bruise as a rocket soars from the shark's throat up at their enemies. Congrats on your rocket launcher?! I hate you for bringing a baby to a battle. As Jin Ling holds the shark though, it wiggles and it fires again, rocket soaring closer to where Huaisang and Anya are and slamming into the pegasus's legs...just as the soldier swipes down to attempt and drive the sword into Anya's back.]
[that's a little shaky, though, seeing as he's recovering both from the vibration of that hit and the expectation that he was about to lose his goddamn arm?? he might technically be trained in how to use a blade but that doesn't mean he fights much, and he's absolutely too shaken from that hit to do anything else.
as much as I want to say he drops the scissors he's very very good at being clingy, so like, that's his first reflex... he is holding on to them instead of sniff, though, so he might get shoved off while he can't move yet. we'll do that instead.

which only barely brings her face to face with this soldier on a pegasus. there's the sharp gasp as the sword cuts into skin, and she only barely manages to move the gun in her good hand, shooting in that direction without time to aim for any particular body part, intending only to try to get the soldier away from her, away from yodel, away from nie
she'll empty the cartridge, if that's possible, or until she runs out of strength in her hand to pull the trigger]

The man with the axe is trying for another swing though, this time slashing at Nie's front while Sniff tries to gouge him with his snout. Did I change it from Huaisang to Nie because it's easier? Yes.
Demon approaches the battle line, tail whipping and knocking soldiers aside as he barks and a gust of wind blows. The rockets from button-shark flare and spin, aiming straight toward the center of the action. The wind from Demon sways them so they aren't aimed quite at Nie and Anya, but they're still moving pretty damn fast.
This close, Toi's jacket will finally unlock and unzip revealing a handful of ninja stars that will continually dispense that he can use to aim at long distances. Jin Ling's jacket will also dispense...bombs. Why. Why this. Careful though, they're hot! He will burn his hands when he throws them, so maybe he won't use them at all.
The soldier in the air has called for backup as the pegasus whinnies and kicks. The sword pierces Anya and though she's shooting, the horse is flying and dodging most of the bullets from leaving fatal marks. Yodel barks again, the ground shaking and trembling but with one last bullet Anya hits her target.
But as the soldier falls, he drives the sword further into the girl and drags her down with him straight to the ground.]

as we've established, though, anya is behind him so he doesn't see this stabbing happen... he's focused on axe man for now, trying to dispatch him so he can regain his bearings before he gets attacked again.]

but the shock overrides that as she feels the sword drive into her chest, and drags into her. she falls with the soldier, and wonders whose blood this is that's on her, and on her hands, and on her clothes. immediately her free hand tries to reach out for yodel, for some sense of balance, but she can't quite get it. she looks for another gun, in case someone is coming to hurt nie or yodel or sniff, because she's still thinking about others.
she has to get up, and she tells herself that, trying to will her limbs past the pain - she pushes herself off the ground only a few inches before she falls again

The man with the axe is behind him though and Yodel listens to Anya, bashing through the battle and knocking men aside to give her a solid shot. The kickback of the gun occurs as she pulls the trigger, bullet flying straight for a headshot as the axe lands right into Huaisang's shoulder. The jacket, however, seems to protect him as its made of steel in the back and the vibrations of the hit shake him to the core so hard he may fumble and drop his weapon.
Toi and Jin Ling have a clearer sense of the battle field though as they run, drawing closer and closer. Toi can see that Anya's in the thicket, along with a heavily armored soldier on a pegasus drawing near her with their sword drawn, ready to strike as they close.
Jin Ling unzips the shark's mouth and holds it up! It doesn't quite bite, but it opens its jaws and the kickback slams into Jin Ling's chest hard enough to bruise as a rocket soars from the shark's throat up at their enemies. Congrats on your rocket launcher?! I hate you for bringing a baby to a battle. As Jin Ling holds the shark though, it wiggles and it fires again, rocket soaring closer to where Huaisang and Anya are and slamming into the pegasus's legs...just as the soldier swipes down to attempt and drive the sword into Anya's back.]

[that's a little shaky, though, seeing as he's recovering both from the vibration of that hit and the expectation that he was about to lose his goddamn arm?? he might technically be trained in how to use a blade but that doesn't mean he fights much, and he's absolutely too shaken from that hit to do anything else.
as much as I want to say he drops the scissors he's very very good at being clingy, so like, that's his first reflex... he is holding on to them instead of sniff, though, so he might get shoved off while he can't move yet. we'll do that instead.

which only barely brings her face to face with this soldier on a pegasus. there's the sharp gasp as the sword cuts into skin, and she only barely manages to move the gun in her good hand, shooting in that direction without time to aim for any particular body part, intending only to try to get the soldier away from her, away from yodel, away from nie
she'll empty the cartridge, if that's possible, or until she runs out of strength in her hand to pull the trigger]

[Panicked, after the second shot, he slides his arms up and throws them around the shark's head to close the shark's mouth and keep it that way for right this moment, mostly until they can figure out anything about Huaisang and Anya.]

[Because Jin Ling is going to release the shark's mouth and tip it down, trying to let it fire off a shot right in the midst of any groups of soldiers making a stand against Anya and Huaisang.]

Demon approaches the battle line, tail whipping and knocking soldiers aside as he barks and a gust of wind blows. The rockets from button-shark flare and spin, aiming straight toward the center of the action. The wind from Demon sways them so they aren't aimed quite at Nie and Anya, but they're still moving pretty damn fast.
This close, Toi's jacket will finally unlock and unzip revealing a handful of ninja stars that will continually dispense that he can use to aim at long distances. Jin Ling's jacket will also dispense...bombs. Why. Why this. Careful though, they're hot! He will burn his hands when he throws them, so maybe he won't use them at all.
The soldier in the air has called for backup as the pegasus whinnies and kicks. The sword pierces Anya and though she's shooting, the horse is flying and dodging most of the bullets from leaving fatal marks. Yodel barks again, the ground shaking and trembling but with one last bullet Anya hits her target.
But as the soldier falls, he drives the sword further into the girl and drags her down with him straight to the ground.]

and now that huaisang can move, he goes along with what the scissors seem to want; the strength boost is the only reason he can think about splitting them at all, honestly, but while he has it? he's going to make use of it. assuming the blades do split, he'll use one to block and the other to dart in for a stab on axe man, hoping he's too distracted by sniff to do much blocking himself.
as we've established, though, anya is behind him so he doesn't see this stabbing happen... he's focused on axe man for now, trying to dispatch him so he can regain his bearings before he gets attacked again.]

but the shock overrides that as she feels the sword drive into her chest, and drags into her. she falls with the soldier, and wonders whose blood this is that's on her, and on her hands, and on her clothes. immediately her free hand tries to reach out for yodel, for some sense of balance, but she can't quite get it. she looks for another gun, in case someone is coming to hurt nie or yodel or sniff, because she's still thinking about others.
she has to get up, and she tells herself that, trying to will her limbs past the pain - she pushes herself off the ground only a few inches before she falls again
why is her strength leaving her arms?
why is she coughing out more dark red, staining the ground?
why is it all getting darker and distant and harder to hear?]
