GRAVEYARD
THE GRAVEYARD
No two deaths are ever quite the same. Some might remember the exact moment their lives were cut short; others might only see a blinding flash of light; the particularly unlucky ones might not recall any details whatsoever.
No matter how it ended up happening, though, all of you here will always have one thing in common: one second you're dead; the next, you wake up to find yourself in a dark room. Before you can even start to try and get your bearings, a shadowy figure appears in the doorway of your room, face lit from the bottom up by a faint, almost ethereal glow. It stands still for a few seconds before murmuring,
"Oooooh... I see dead people."
... The voice is followed by a snicker as a gloved hand flicks the light switch on, revealing the mysterious entity to be Pumpkin, the fox-eared groundskeeper. Lowering the game console that had illuminated her face, she continues, "That one never gets old. Anyway, hey, sup, you're dead, that sucks, the house is probably gonna eat you as soon as this round is over. Wanna see what everyone else is up to on the other side?"
As you take in everything the gardener has told you, you suddenly realize as you look around... though you don't see anything, why does it feel like this place is already crowded?

but honestly that answer manages to get her expression to soften into one of fondness and hope - and her own hand will come up to once again slowly try to push melt's sleeve up so anya can hold her hand. it's a gentle enough movement that melt can pull her hand away at any time if she wants.]
Mm. Then I promise. I'll find my way to you again, even if you're on the other side of the moon.

Anya, for as capable of a girl as she can be, still seems from a world far removed from the dangers that Meltryllis knows. ]
You'll need a lot of luck. I don't appear for just anyone.
no subject
I'll muster all the luck that I have then, and then some.
So I'll do my very best, so we don't have to say goodbye for too long.
no subject
No wonder Toi wanted to run away from you.
no subject
her expression drops then, as she looks very disheartened]
.... I said something wrong again....?
no subject
I asked Toi what you said to to him, and he wouldn't answer. I have a good idea now.
no subject
what!!!!!
shE LOOKS SO DISTRESSED]
Eh? Did I make him angry? Unhappy? What did I do wrong?
no subject
You know what he's like, don't you? It wasn't that bad.
no subject
I do, and I know that he's kind, and a lot more patient with me than other people but...
[she still looks very sad. big sad kitten eyes.]
I feel bad... when he runs away from me.
no subject
That makes her laugh. ]
You think he's patient? Silly girl. He wouldn't run if he were patient.
no subject
[that's pretty patient to her but also
anya's standards are on the fucking floor]
I wish I knew how to talk to him better, so he doesn't feel like he has to run. Jin Ling, too....
no subject
Meltryllis looks into the distance. ]
Sometimes, an abundance of something you're not used to is frightening.
[ She's not sure if that's what it is, but if she wanted to try to understand, that's what she would guess. ]
no subject
... but it's because life isn't kind to people that I think they deserve to have more of it.
[and she doesn't really adjust her affection levels so much as she's just
naturally absurdly affectionate]
no subject
Dumb boys can't handle too much at once. You have to think about how weak they are.
[ Temper yourself, so they aren't freaked out and run away. ]
no subject
normally calling her friends dumb and weak might get her to fluff up a little - and she does look oh so momentarily agitated, but. the more she thinks about it.]
.... Maybe so....
[she
will let melt have this one]
no subject
Meltryllis likes riling people up. ]
You don't look like you agree.
no subject
Mm... I don't like to think that my friends are dumb or weak. I still don't know if I'd use those words but...
[ . . . ]
I think I see what you mean... They're very... shy.
no subject
[ It's better to clearly judge people for their attributes, the good and the bad. Meltryllis may come off cruel, but most of her harsh jabs aren't without actual observation.
She laughs. ]
Shy is one word for it. But if you know it, it's logical to try a different approach than your usual one.
no subject
[she will fail miserably]
no subject
Not that Meltryllis would ever admit to this. ]
Tell me if you succeed.
