Is there any reason why Asch was able to stay awake on Thursday? From what I can tell, that applies to the culprit and the victim... was Meltryllis intending to kill him as well as Nia, and just didn't succeed in going all the way?

Given that Asch was attacked first, would the better question be why Nia was awake? Or is that irrelevant?
