Nah, it's... [ Man he's not a scientist. ] Literally like energy. I'm not a scientist, so all the little stuff's lost on me, but it uses septium as a source and that renews itself over time. Harness it in a little orb, and slap it into things and bam.

Light, heat, Arts, energy for vehicles and weapons, all that stuff.

That sounds more like magic, Ash. [But call her fascinated.] That's way cooler than anything we have here...we just have normal lights and stuff. If you could have a physical manifestation of energy...you could create lots of cool stuff!

Yeah. It caused a whole revolution like... 60 years ago or something? The shit we have with it is way more advanced than any of the stuff they had back then with steam power and stuff.

That's still so cool...obviously things like batteries and generators exist but they still don't last very long. Having portable energy could change how everything's done. But don't you guys run the risk of running out of energy...?

Septium renews itself. It's natural shit, so leave it alone for long enough and it'll regenerate and if more's needs you can just hit it up again.

If it shuts down we're all useless until it starts back up, but... this shits been going for over half a decade. There was a shutdown in the south of the country a while back, but they got through it.

This stuff's a seller. The people marketing and harnessing it can't afford to fuck it up, or there'd be riots.

Artificial mining of what, Cobbler. Septium is everywhere, and it doesn't do anything unless it's an orbment. And those are widely made and distributed anyway. [ And the game doesn't tell us shit about knock-off orbments. ]

Like. Every city sells them. It's readily available enough there's no point in knock offs, the supply chain ain't struggling and if you need the really spendy ones, you're in a job that pays enough to get 'em.

Most of the things that're broken are fixed by us, but it's never been a major issue before. The house is pretty sturdy, surprisingly. For being as old as it is I mean.

Nothing that's required a ton of maintenance, no. Maybe Master Blue has, but it's been...pretty stable the entire time we've been here.
