[ Yeah, she has to catch it off center and let it spin her for a bit to shed the momentum, which means she momentarily loses sight of what's going on, but when the safe is set aside and she looks back...
Now that it's actually spilling out she can get a decent glimpse at it and. Liquid. Liquid in a bottle. The shoulder was in one of these things' teeth. Are you kidding her. ]
Don't tell me that's the ointment we need?!
[ would they just be locked in here forever if it all spills, jfc ]
Grab him, hold him down as best you can, pull him apart if you have to, I've had enough--
[ because Akechi seems to be a little more occupied than she currently is she's absolutely going to go for the head and fire when it looks like she's got a clear shot. Look sharp twinks, don't get shot!! ]
The sword in his hand is gone and he's getting kicked back, so that's fun! But the gun has a gun and needs a clear shot, so he'll lend Hunter a hand and try to keep the zombie from moving out of the way before 45 can put a bullet through his skull. Let's, hm, not get stuck in this room forever, team.]
[Haha yeah, they'd be locked in if that happened. Isn't that fun? Luckily for them though the zombie's distracted by Hunter reaching for his pockets and he's trying to elbow him out of the way. The other arm is dragging its nails down Akechi's back as it falls to the floor. Even though the zombie is a few inches taller than both of them, together they'll manage to hold him down.
There's a snarl and he tries to slash his sword with one arm, working to fend them off. Teeth gnash and blood drips from his face, the hilt of the sword slamming into their knuckles hard enough to break their fingers if they don't move.
But sometimes...you cheat by bringing a gun to a knife sword fight. He hears 45 yell, and sees the gun. Something in his expression flickers to an emotion that's almost human, almost like panic before he growls low and raspy.]
Wait, the s-- [He doesn't get a chance to finish his words though, because that is, in fact, brain and blood splattering all over 45's two companions. The creature wilts, and the sword reverts to its ballpoint pen form as it rolls out of his hand and onto the floor. Some of the ointment has spilled, but Hunter was able to save it!
...everything is silent again except for the faint hum of the fridges and the dripping in the sink.]
[ She is first going to check on where she'd dropped the safe, and then as other S-words come to mind... ]
Get your fingerprints, detective. I don't think any of us have touched the sink at all during all of this, but I don't like the way it said that.
[ "Wait, the s-" what, zombie, did you actually want to be helpful in your last moments or was to to sow further confusion. The terrible part about being in monster manor is that she can't actually ignore it, not after having seen Asch fight the transformation a few days earlier. ]
Hunter, you have the key and ointment both, correct? Apply the latter to the smaller corpse- one of the two that didn't wake up for a midnight snack. See if the key works on that door we found.
[ Anyway, where did that shoulder go. There's zombie guts and corpses everywhere and her systems are still blaring warnings at her- oh, and apparently whatever adrenaline rush and sheer nope the other end of her link is feeling hasn't worn off yet. Cool. The self consciousness all of a sudden is probably from them too. ]
[Inhale. Exhale. Calm down. Pretend you don't have a pounding headache from feeling someone else's concern and protectiveness over you. Reply, sighing:]
You're not the only one who didn't like that, 45-san. Sink, safe, sword, syringes... If he had something to say, he picked a poor time to say it.
[... What a mess.
Don't mind him as he steals the ballpoint pen before anything else, holding it away from him while wondering if it can turn into a sword again or if that was just, you know, Little Zombie ThingsTM. Give him a sword for his trauma, you dumb pen. If nothing happens, he will pocket it and move to the sink. Has anything changed over there? Is the faucet still dripping?]
By the way, I don't intend to contract any kind of zombie illness this week, so I suggest we make use of the alcohol, soap and towels if they're intact... [Not that he expects Hunter to listen to him. :) But. :) Puts that out there, anyway.] I also want to verify there are no additional notes in the refrigerators... or buried in the, ah, remains.
[The floor, he means. The very gross floor, which he will give a cursory glance. Also: Where the fuck is his fork and fountain pen? Fuck you, raccoon.]
[The shoulder is still on the ground under the Varian table! They should maybe flip the table back up for the poor other corpse who's still on the fucking floor among the wreckage. This morgue is now disgusting thanks to brains, guts, blood and corpses. Hunter will be able to apply the ointment to the small corpse and begin to see that the burns start to slowly minimize. As the dead skin begins to flake off, they'll notice that there are small, animal-esque scratches near his eyes and his neck. A soft click from fridge number six, but nothing comes crawling out to say hewwo.
Akechi and Hunter will then move over to the sink, I guess, since Hunter's following 45's instructions and Akechi's checking on things. If all three of them check themselves, they'll find that their movements are slower now, almost...a shuffle? Looking at their wounds they'll also see that anything actively bleeding is slowly turning black.
Akechi can keep the pen, his fork and his fountain pen are probably under the table in the raccoon's pockets so. That's that. Over at the sink, a few things are happening here. The water is still dripping, a few drops running down the side and toward the drain. The fingerprints are still there! And when he glances down at the drain a blue eye blinks as it stares up at him.
Anyway! Hunter can use the key to finally go back to the cabinets and open the panel in the back. He'll have to push some stuff out of the way to do it, but when he gets the cabinet unlocked, something fleshy and pulsing rolls out, dropping straight into the sink.
The still-beating heart thrums inside the metal sink as the eye turns to glance at it.]
Cooly, while taking his phone out to snap a quick picture of the finger prints:]
Suit yourself.
[No. None of that horror movie nonsense. He plucks the heart out of the sink, leaving the eye behind for now so he can head over to Rise's fridge. Hewwo, Risette... Is her corpse still there? And if so, does it look like the heart in his hand would be a good fit for the cavity in her chest? He will try to carefully slot it in if it seems to be a match.]
[45 will successfully find the shoulder. It's dirty now, but it's in one piece and looks like it has some teeth marks on it. Nice. Please don't slip in the gore. The other corpse is still on the floor, a loss of life and dignity.
Akechi's going to pick up a heart, and it thrums softly in his hand. It seems to react to something and Akechi will feel a strange, warm kind of sensation in his chest
Risette's corpse is still there, mangled thanks to two people beating her head in earlier. If Akechi checks, the heart does seem as though it would fit in there. As he's slotting the heart into her chest, he'll hear a feminine voice that whispers softly in his ear.
"Persona!"
Too bad none of the others can hear it. Huh! Weird! As the heart settles, the girl's body tilts and reveals a small smear of black as though something is written on her palm.]
[ There's the shoulder. Time to shuffle back towards the poor corpse that's still ass up on the floor without tripping. She'd pity it but honestly? Nah.
Have your shoulder back, poor corpse with (apparently) an attitude problem. Still got that 2 in your side? ]
Okay, taking a closer look. What's that smear on her palm?
And if whatever is on her palm isn't something that will keep him rooted there, let's speed things up a bit and say he will go through all of the freezers in search of additional notes. If there aren't any notes to be found there, he will instead go looking through the carnage on the floor to see if there are any gross notes there, or obvious missing body parts that weren't accounted for while they were fighting the zombies. Who's missing a blue eye? Hewwo?
... Also, totally taking his stuff back from the raccoon corpse. Thank you very much.]
[The shoulder slots in almost perfectly! The two is also still there, and there's a soft click from another fridge, number 11. So while that happens, Akechi will notice that the smear on the girl's palm looks like a Roman numeral six. He can go through and he'll find there are similar half-written notes that are too matted in blood and gore to read, though fridges 6, 11, and 13 are missing notes.
He won't find any other notes in the gore, but as he starts looking around he'll get a better assessment of the zombies' various injuries. The blue eye seems to belong to a young teenage boy with black hair and wearing a stained and shredded black and yellow cape. ]
[... Alrighty, then. Fridges 6 and 11 get a second look, as he checks to see what could have produced those clicks. Is there anything strange inside, on their walls or on the fridge doors?
Once that's done, he will walk back over to the sink, pick the eye up, and gently shove it back into the corpse's eye socket.]
[No more fwiends for now! If 45 looks at not!Varian, she'll notice there seems to be a pattern starting to flake off where the ointment was applied. Hm. It's a little hard to tell what it is right now.
Akechi will find that the fridges seem ordinary. Fridge 6 and 11 are very clean, but if he looks up he'll notice a little light has turned on ceiling of each of them.
The corpse is happy to have his eye ig, but if Akechi looks at the eye he'll notice a normal number three stained in black on it. ]
[Well. Guess he's placing the eye so the smudge is looking at him. :// There's no additional click when he replaces the eye, though, right?
If so, he's going to pause... And then walk over to the counter with the body bags. Is the body bag for OSEHAU is still there? Because if so, he's going to pick it up, walk over to the matching corpse...]
—Excuse me.
[And shove it in the body bag so he can take it to fridge #11. This is fine.]
[There is no extra click and the body bag is still there! Akechi can go put the body bag back in the 11th fridge. When he does, the drawer immediately slams shut and almost takes his fingers with it. The fridge seals and hums like the cooling system is working again.
45 will have to flake off the burnt skin with the ointment, but soon she will find three thin cuts that form a IV.]
Anyways, he's carefully putting the zombie that is definitely not Varian into a body bag, before just as carefully setting him in fridge #6 and closing the door.]
[ Whatever the hell that means, because she's immediately dropping whatever part of Varian she was just rubbing ointment onto as soon as it's visible. 2 and 4, cool. ]
Hey, detective. You were looking at the corpses longer than I was, and saw more of them too. Any ideas?
[......... Considers saying nothing and just nyooming for the safe. Realizes he's pretending to be a pleasant and good boy right now and thus, he cannot. Fuck.]
Yes, actually. [Pleasantly! Perish.] I believe we have the code for the safe now.
[So, like. Excuse him as he just heads over and tries to input 3462 first, and 4623 second if that doesn't work.]
Gently........... sets the safe back down................]
... Disregard that. [Goodbye, pride.] Have either of you spotted any additional numbers in the room? We're lacking four digits, in addition to 3, 4, 6 and 2, for an eight digit code.
