[There's a disgruntled sound almost like a cat meowing in confusion despite the fact that Peach isn't a cat. Unfortunately, Ash has a good ten inches on her so she's forced to move.]

We're never too busy for guests! At least on Sundays through Thursdays... [This is her only protest which means they're 100% able to start carting her across the hall to the ballroom. Goodbye.] What questions would you even have about those?

[ Letsa go, Peachio. ]

Yeah, but you're getting something out of it too now, thanks to generous McGee there. We win, you win, and your guest satisfication goes through the roof.

[ TO! THE! PLAQUES! ]

If we see something that makes no damn sense, for one.

[jabs a finger at Ash. once they reach the plaques, he beelines towards Asch's first]

We don't know what we're going to find. We might need you to interpret for us.

[TO THE PLAQUES...but she's making Ash carry her while she's giving them both a flat look. Once they're in the ballroom, she's letting them cart her toward Asch's plaque as she looks up at the wall.]

Do they really no longer make sense to you?

People keep changing into monsters, Cobbler. Sense left the building a while ago. [ Okok. He's holding the little triangle up to his eye and looking at Asch's picture. ]

I mean. They flicker. Don't they flicker to you guys?

[steps aside to let Ash do that]

The only ones that flicker are the ones of those who have died. Everyone else's seem stable.

Well yes...[As Ash is doing that, he'll just hold the triangle up to his eye and see that the portrait stops flickering. It seems to stabilize to Asch's normal face.] Sometimes that just happens.

[voidbreaker]

[ He's gonna keep staring at it for a hot minute to see if it flickers at all during that time. ]

That ain't normal, Cobbler. Pictures don't flicker after someone dies.

[after Ash has stared for a while, Akira will walk in front of him and wave. how does he look through the triangle-o-scope??]

I thought they were flickering because those people had died. Is that right?

That's correct. [The portrait doesn't change back at all while Ash is looking through the triangle, but Akira will see it flickering. When Akira waves his hand in front of it...he's just waving his hand in front of it, nothing happens.] It's like you said. Sense left the building and stuff.

[voidbreaker]

[ Huh. ]

It doesn't flicker when you look through this. [ He takes a few steps down the line of plaques and stops at Nia's, holding the little triangle up to it again. ]

So... what. Is it showing things as they actually are? Or as they should be?

[Akira is quiet when he next speaks]

. . . try looking at Meltryllis-san's next.

[Look at that. Nia's happily smiling! With a fully intact head! If Ash looks at Melt's profile though he'll see that nothing has changed at all.]

That part's a little more difficult to interpret. [She frowns.] Master Blue doesn't always tell us what the tools around the mansion do, but usually people figure it out with trial and error.

[ ash just pauses at nia for a fraction of a second too long, before moving on to melt. Then he lowers the triangle. ]

So. We keep poking things until it works. I can be persistent.

[ c'mon then ] If here’s a dead end, then we check the new floor. If you guys don’t know what this thing does, then someone’s gotta figure it out.

[of course it isn't that easy. . .]

Let's try the new floor, then. The music room.

Why the music room? [She's not exactly objecting, but she's interested in the logic. Luckily for them, she'll begin walking on her own.]

[ well then. Ash tucks the triangle — and his own hands — into his pockets. ]

... something you want to check there? I wouldn’t mind checking the games room myself. It kinda looks like a board game piece, doesn’t it?

No, there's nothing in particular I want to see there. It was just the first room I thought of on the new floor.

[he is heading towards the stairwell now!!]

The game room is fine, too.

[Up the stairs they go...]

We can check both of them if you'd like. [But once they get to the top of the stairs on the third floor, Peach stops and seems to linger in the center.]

Music room may as well be first since it's closest.

[ He's not expecting an answer, but he's gonna try. ]

If you were a lost guy in a murder mansion, where would you check first? I'm fine to check everywhere if I have to, so we could be here a while.

But let's check every room we can. Music room first, then the game room?

Wherever you'd like to go, we may check. [But she'll lead them into the music room! What're you going to look at in here my guys.]

Fine, picky. Assuming you'd already rattled the door on the hinges.

[ Huh. He hasn't gone in here yet so it's all new. For the moment, he's just gonna do a sweep of the room, triangle held to his eye, before holding it out to Akira in case he wants to look at anything super particular. ]

Kitchen. For a snack.

[after Ash does his sweep, Akira is gonna take the triangle and look at the pipe organ!!]

[On this mini invest...they're going to find that the triangle reveals nothing! The music room is nice and clean and full of fun instruments. The pipe organ has the note asking that guests don't destroy it signed with a purple paw print. Peach is busy playing with a bongo in the corner while they're doing this.]

Not a bad order of operations, I guess.
