[ uuuuuh holy shit, fam. hori stares up at the ceiling, squinting at wherever agni is banging around up there ]
Babo Kim-san, can you hear us....?
[ HEWWO? while agni may or may not answer, hori goes to check on ayabe and his new arm friend, glancing over the clocks and maps. anything familiar on those he'd notice? times, places, etc? ]
[ Uh. Without the light, he couldn't see what happened to Babo Kim, so he's just left staring up at the ceiling copying Hori. Gonna assume that's him up there in the ceiling, and he sounds alive, so that's good. Ayabe straightens up and waves the fake arm at Hori as his answer, and then unzips his guitar case so he can stuff it inside. This one's for you, Rocket.
He takes a cursory look around the place, at the maps in front of him, but then he leaves to check out the desk at the center of the room. Important things sit in the middle of the room, this is what he knows from the student council room.
Being the very normal high school boy that he is, the first thing he does here is pick up the phone and dial 119. ]
[Hori's voice is muffled but Agni can at least hear them down below. The humming continues and seems to be following him, but the ticking is growing quieter as he moves on. As he's going, he'll notice a light ahead, but it's in the opposite direction of the ticking.
Hori will recognize that the clocks display times for places such as New York, Tokyo, Sydney, and a few places he won't recognize such as Midgar, Hyrule, Corona, Twilight Town, etc. All of the clocks display something different, but if Hori's looking closely he may notice that the second hands aren't moving. The maps seem to display maps of similar locations, including a lot that he doesn't recognize. The maps have push pins all over them to indicate certain areas. There are also blueprints of the house over to the left of those maps with white chalkmarks drawn all over them.
...the arm goes in the guitar case, so that's nice. Goodbye arm. Ayabe will find himself faced with a phone and as he picks up the dial 119, he'll hear the phone ring before the line connects and the sound of heavy breathing fills the line.]
Anyways, while Ayabe plays telephone, Hori will be observing the maps and clocks, pulling paper out of his back pocket to take notes. anything to note about the chalk markings on the blueprints? they aren't x marks the spot where everyone died are they.......? SQUINTS DUBIOUSLY ]
[My god. Okay. I can finally stop giving directions!! SO let's take care of Agni first. He heads for the light and if he's not careful, he's going to find himself falling through the ceiling again. If he's careful with where he's going, he should be able to feel the loose tiles and push them back to drop down into a room below. Inside there seems to be an array of empty guns, gas masks, some canned goods, a thick manual of some kind...and two bombs? Well great! One says 10 minute and counting and the other says 30. There also appears to be a desk and another set of lockers. The door in front of him is metal. Perhaps it's attached to the previous room?
Hori will notice that some of the chalk markings are shaped like hearts. That's sweet. There are arrows that seem to connect different rooms in the house toward others but none of them seem to have any real reason. Though if he reads the chalk carefully he'll notice a set of numbers: 28, 42, 16. There are also directions: L, R, L, L, R, R, R.
Meanwhile, Ayabe's going to have a nice conversation.]
on other hand i'm going to be mean and drop him. ow. but wow, this room is a lot. bombs! bad!]
I was afraid of that...
[he grabs the manual before he looks to the bombs. are they attached to anything, or are they just sitting there casually, waiting to go off. god, there's a lot to deal with here.
he heads over to the desk, skimming the manual as he does—anything on the desk or inside drawers if it has any?]
[ i can't believe xemnas has been here with us this whole time.
thank goodness hori has been carrying around his notepad this whole time because all this stuff is sure going in there!! anyways, if that's all that is there, hori will continue his investigating to counterclockwise, heading for the computers, with one eye on ayabe. someone picked up....? who the heck is Out There???
anyway, this setup is actually very dated for him, but there's a chance he can figure things out. thanks, time travel! if he clicks a button, hit enter a couple of times to see if anything happens out of pure curiosity, does the screen change.....? ]
[ Can they hear any noise from the other room indicating Babo Kim's falling into the back room behind the metal door?
Ayabe tries to look around a bit, but honestly, his attention's on this phone conversation more than anything else, though he pokes around at what he can on the desk, if the drawers need a key or a combination or something else to open them, etc.
But then he's asked that question. Where is his heart? In his chest, obviously, and he's about to give a straight answer when he stops himself.
... ]
My heart is with my family. [ Even though it's Thursday! Even though people have been piling onto him all week telling him the DVDs are fake!! The doubt still lingers, and his voice becomes cold. ]
Why do you ask?
[ What do you know about them? Did you do anything to them? If you did, I will find you and I will gut you.
[Down he goes. One bomb seems to be attached to the desk itself, and the other appears to be freeform. The one attached to the desk is the thirty minute one. The manual appears to be a book on how to disable the bombs, but it's written in a language Agni won't recognize. Instead, he'll find that most of the drawers are locked, but carved into the desk itself near the bomb are numbers: 8, 13, 14. Inside the drawer he'll also find a screwdriver, a key, and a small metal ball. The manual seems to indicate which wires to cut, but the colors don't seem to match up. He can either continue looking around or he can focus on the bomb.
While Hori's checking out the computer, he'll find that the connection seems to be made! The dial-up noise stops, and a box appears for him to input a password. All of the computers seem to suddenly match. Hm. He can pick any of them to try, but they all be waiting for him.
But yeah, they'll hear Agni falling and maybe even hear the faint beep now that the dial-up sound is gone. Ayabe will notice there's a document in the typewriter itself, though it seems as though the author stopped midway. One drawer appears to have a binder in it, and the other has a small box. He may be distracted though when the voice speaks again. At least put the phone on speaker, damn.]
Would be great if these came with an OFF switch...!
[nabbing the screwdriver & key & metal ball! is there anything inside the ball? IS THERE ANYTHING THAT COULD USE A COMBINATION OF THREE NUMBERS, DAMN IT.
[ oh. it worked. and even the dial tone dies which causes him to look up momentarily, wondering if agni is surviving on his side (haha!)
anyways, back to his part. what the heck is the password......? there wouldn't happen to be any sticky note attached to the screens or under the table would there? the keyboard, under a slot, IN THE CD DRIVE? TRUST ME, HE'S PATTING DOWN EVERYTHING AVAILABLE. some doofus always leaves the pasword laying around...!!
if there's nothing he's moving on to the metal lockers because maybe it's hidden in there instead?? but he'll at least glance over to ayabe to make sure he's still like. okay. even if he's pretty sure nothing will pop out of the landline to attack him, you never know. ]
[ I appreciate Hori being concerned for Ayabe, while he continues to keep the phone clamped between his shoulder and ear and not share, because this is a private conversation. ]
I still love my family. If you're asking something else, say if clearer. What do I love? Who do I love? I can't answer you properly if I don't understand.
[ He takes the document out of the typewriter, giving it a glance through in case it's anything immediately relevant, otherwise it gets set on the table for him to put inside the binder later so it doesn't get crumpled. He picks up the binder and box, both to open. What's inside... ]
[There's nothing inside the ball! It's just like a steel ball like you'd see in a pinball machine. Agni nyooms to the lockers and he'll see that they're locked with a combination lock...that requires three numbers! Wow! Wonder if those will work. (A hint. They will not work. Guess those numbers go to something else?)
The bombs continue to tick, though they appear to be ticking in a strange sort of cadence...like humming.
There are no sticky notes, but he'll find three CDs if he's busy scrounging around. Each of them have a symbol drawn on them. A pink heart, a purple diamond, and an orange circle. One of the lockers in the corner appears to be locked, but upon opening the other Hori will find an army helmet, a jacket, a pair of boots and a pair of pants. Dress-up could be fun!
And then there's Ayabe. The document on the typewriter appears to be a decoding list for Morse, since the tapping of the telegraph is still going. The binder first and foremost has even more detailed blueprints of the house, though there are certain words written on various pages. Lung. Stomach. Intestine. Spleen. He'll also notice that the pages are all out of order.
Inside the box are more pushpins, though at the bottom there seems to be a message written: The brain, the brain, the center of the chain.]
C'mon, I'm usually the one making things explode, not stopping them!
[looks through the guns/masks/cans?? who knows, maybe the answer to life is hidden inside them. otherwise, he's just going to. examine the bombs more closely? specifically the freeform one, since it's the most impending one. also, yell louder.]
Hey, can you guys hear me!? I need three numbers, if you've got them!
[he could maybe check to see if the door just opens, but! bomb!!]
I got 8, 13, 14! Also, a screwdriver, key, and a metal ball!
[ well the cds got put aside to try later as he continues exploring. and since i have none trust, hori digs through each garment, looking for anything tucked in pockets, crevices or any hidden linings before tucking them to the side. maybe they'll come in handy later....?
BUT FIRST, SINCE HE HEARS the voice of god A MYSTERIOUS VOICE CALLING, ]
Babo Kim-san??
[ whirls like he's gonna find him. HOPEFULLY IT'S COMING FROM THE METAL DOOR WE HAVEN'T GOTTEN TO YET, HAHA! though because he's a dumb fool, he doesn't try the doorknob when agni keeps shouting and flips through his book instead. ]
I did! They're 28, 42, 16! I also found a set of directions with them......?
[ is it possible to slide the sheet of paper underneath the door? because he'll try it instead of the doorknob ]
[ Ayabe sets everything down so he can place a hand over the side of the phone to block out some of that shouting. Guys, please, he's trying to have a conversation here.
Can he read anything from the typewriter document, or use it to decipher that telegraph coming in whenever he finishes this nice chat? Everything he finds goes inside the guitar case. He's just going to loot everything and hope they don't need it. Table lamp? His now. ]
Regular exercise and a proper diet.
[ ...is his answer to a strong heart. Stay healthy, everyone! ]
[...well. Let's start with Hori first. He's going to find a few things in the pockets including scraps of paper, a syringe, and a number 3 that looks like it might belong to one of the telephones in the room. It's possible to slide the paper under the door at least, so that's nice. Yay!
Ayabe's having this nice conversation and if he pays attention, he'll hear the "SEEK A WAY OUT" notice from the telegraph. He'll just have to translate it himself. He can now have the document along with the clothed arm and the lamp.
There's a razorblade taped to the bottom of the lamp, so be careful.]
"I see...enjoy your workout..."
[On that ominous note, the call disconnects. Inside the other room, Agni will find a few things. A.) Some of the cans sound hollow and B.) one of the inside of the masks has something written inside. If he puts on the mask, he'll see: Look Up.
The ceiling opens above Agni, Hori, and Ayabe not long after that, three creatures drop down, screeching and immediately on the offense and holding three scrolls around their necks. Enjoy your workout.]
[NOW IS A BAD TIME, FUCK YOU CREATURE HE'S TRYING TO STOP A BOMB OR TWO]
Whoops... Seriously, I don't have time for you!
[but guess he's gotta get that scroll!! he's promptly taking off the gas mask (did it go over his already existing mask? maskception?) and launching it at the creature, before he pulls out his sword.]
[ well let's go down the list here. hori will be checking the scraps of paper for any useful information, checking the syringe to see if it's full of Stuff, and squinting at the three that he'll figure out where it goes and fix later, i guess? all of this gets tucked aside to the growing computer pile when he's yelling at agni.
THOUGH SPEAKING OF YELLING AT AGNI, hori looks up when ceiling starts making noises and he shouts out a warning when creatures drop down ]
Look out!
[ with that Horikawa unsheathes his blade, leaping for the closest one. ]
He doesn't have time to do anything else but frown at the phone when the call disconnects, and then there's monsters? Ayabe gives a yell and hurtles the lamp away from him to smash against the monster's face, goodbye his one and only weapon.
I am very very very sorry about this and the way Ayabe fights in canon, but the phone is getting flung at the monster. The box of push pins is getting thrown. The typewriter is getting thrown.
He is purposely making a mess trying to keep that thing away and it's getting so he's coughing and can't breath, but this is how it has to be, give him some time for him to do his thing, or kill the monster for him, Hori, whichever works. ]
[The mask smashes into the creature's face and it screeches loudly, wings flapping and creating that same humming sound Agni heard in the vent. Good thing he got out of there when he did, huh? But at the appearance of the sword it immediately attempts to tackle him and claw him in the face.
Out in the main room, the lamp gets knocked aside with a wing and the monster screeches again, dodging the phone and pins but not quite the typewriter. The typewriter hits and crashes to the ground, falling apart and splitting into pieces. There's a flashdrive on the floor now. This was not how you were supposed to open the typewriter, but there were are. Someone please save Ayabe.
Hori's probably having better luck because the creature going for him is more distracted by dodging everything Ayabe's throwing which means he gets to slash and cut deeply into the wing. A talon tries to wrap around the blade and yank it out of Hori's hands, and possibly lifting Hori off of the ground and yeeting him across the room.]
[well, whatever. agni doesn't particularly care about his face, at least, because there sure are claw marks on it now. being tackled to the ground isn't a great position to be in, though. asshole!!
his sword isn't going to be as effective like this, so he lets go of it and pulls out his knife instead, before attempting to stab the creature in the chest while it's still in close proximity.]
