[And here's Peach bounding through the mansion like a proud kitty cat, barging her way into the study. She's also carrying a book? Hm. Maybe she was in the library already.]

[As soon as he sees her, he just wordlessly gestures at the space where his leg should be. His pant leg hides exactly what's missing, but it does seem emptier than it should if there was still an entire limb there.

He's also still covered in water, because he ran straight from the lake to the study after his Fish Encounter and immediately called for her.]

Why is there a monster fish in the lake?

[She looks at his pant leg. Looks at him. Looks at her own leg.]

Huh. [Hm.] What were you doing in the lake? [That wasn't the point, Peach!!]

[He closes his eyes for a second and just. Takes a breath.]

Peach. My leg just got eaten by a lake monster and I'd really like to know what's going on.

Was it the big one with all the teeth? Or was it the sucker one? [Hunter does not deserve this but she seems a little too fascinated.] There's also the one with ten arms...

I don't know. I didn't get a good look. Maybe it's because I was a little preoccupied trying not to die?

There's a lot in that lake, Hunter. What do you think the boat is for?

That thing was huge, what good is a boat going to do? Why do we even have a monster infested lake in the basement in the first place?

Well if you don't get in the water the things in the water won't get you. [Duh.]

That's kind of like asking why we have a study, isn't it? [No? Not at all?]

That would be great if there was any kind of indication there were things in the water in the first place. Also, I feel like I should say those two things are very different?

I guess that's true...I suppose we didn't think guests would jump into an underground lake without warning right away. But nothing's stopping you guys from putting up a sign.

[Oh well.] ...you must have really good balance to get here from the lake while hopping on one leg. [o:]

You could have rang the bell and I would have just come down there...[Hunter??]

I don't have crutches, but we could probably make some for you? Or we could try to go find your leg.

I didn't exactly want to stay by the lake where I just nearly got killed by a monster fish.

...I would be really surprised if it's still, like. Around.

We could use two of the billiard cues for now, but your leg's probably still running around somewhere. [Haha. Get it? But also no she's starting to notice random limbs are going awry.]

Okay, so if you think it's going to come out of... whatever that thing was, do you know how long that's going to take?

[She looks at the ceiling in thought.]

Probably an hour or two. Maybe a day at the most if your leg isn't putting up much of a fight.

And it's going to be... the same as it was before all this happened?

...it might be a little wet but it shouldn't be unusable or anything. So that's the good news.

Okay. Do I want to ask what the bad news is...?

Also, have you ever considered not having a terrifying monster lake in the basement?

The bad news is you're still missing a leg and you'll just have to pop it back on, but that seems pretty easy. [:T] We aren't exactly the ones who came up with the lake, y'know.
