[oh - anya is immediately going to try to steady herself on the sled, presuming there's some kind of bar to hold onto for balance?? it comes with a little crouch as she looks up at the icicles distrustfully - ]
Careful - might fall.
[but she hears nie's panic and tries to think. her family never quite had sled dogs???]
Медленный! Slow!
[are there any reins for the sled dogs, are they on harnesses, is there a brake on the sled,,]
[WOW, WHOA. He slams his pricked (😒) hands on the sled after putting the cushion back in his pocket, holding on for dear life. It's a bit easier for him to dodge the icicles and other things, but his long ponytail snags a necklace when it whips out behind him, yanking some hair.]
F-fuck!
[He tries to hunch low, but raise up enough the dogs can hear him.] Aiya! What are you running so fast for?! Where are you taking us?! We're going fast enough! Slow down! I'll make you some meat sticks! [Good god why are they so fast. Please say there are reins or a brake.]
[Huaisang and Toi will find they've both been beaned with what's essentially bright and color costume jewelry! A pair of shoes in Anya's size and a matching purse also fall onto the sled, and the necklace pulls on Jin Ling's hair and now it's dangling from his ponytail. RIP.
There are reins but they're also ice cold! They're free to grab them and onto the sides of the sled, but as they're whipping this way down the path they'll also find that there's a bridge ahead with a large gap they'll have to cross. The dogs continue to run, and as they approach they'll see that among the snow occasionally there are flower petals floating through the sky.
At the mention of meat sticks, however, all dogs come to a standstill and the sled jerks to a halt right at the edge of that gap. It balances precariously, teetering back and forth over what looks like an icy, rocky river. But the dogs refuse to move now. At least they're able to see that hanging from nearby trees are diamond necklaces, bright bangles, purses, scarfs, and all sorts of fashion accessories.
They may want to think of a course of action because the longer they sit the more likely their sled will fall.]
anya is going to be just a little bit alarmed, trying to balance against nie’s weight so that they don’t just completely go plummeting into the river, looking up at the trees and she’ll test to see if they can grab a scarf without it falling???
because if that’s a viable escape route she’s going to see how many of them can get hauled up off the sled safely]
Sect Leader Nie! Stop! Just wait until we're re-- Both of you! Stop!
[God! He hops off very carefully, holding onto the sled so he can attempt to help Toi pull it and the dogs back. I almost typed spspsp, but that does not work on dogs. So he sticks his fingers in his mouth and gives a whistle.]
Come on! Back! [Sheesh.] Are we meant to jump it in the sled? [A pause.] We can sew something to get across the gap, but I'll have to jump it with the sled to get one side across.
[The dogs are stubborn, pulling against the reins. Some are backing up but others seem to be stamping their feet like they want to keep going. RUN? RUN. There's also a sudden round of barking as something in the distance howls back.
Good job not plummeting to death though. Anya will be able to grab a scarf, finding it to be sturdy and slowly winding around her wrist. It's an option, at least if they wish to abandon the dogs. I was going to say pulling the dogs alone won't help but backing up the sled is helping even if the bridge crumbles a little beneath them. An icy chill whips through the air, and now that Anya's grabbed a scarf several others begin slithering down from the trees.]
Do you really think we should...? What if we just get stuck up there?
[on the other hand... better than falling and dying!]
If... if we can't get the dogs to back away enough, then perhaps we should try going up.
[he'll try to help tug on the reins, he still doesn't want to get off the sled entirely. if it starts to fall though he will absolutely reach for a scarf.]
[she will look between the rest of them and honestly she just doesn't want anyone to get hurt on this adventure?? she frowns, letting her hand hold onto the scarf so at least one of them is sturdy, and so she can grab onto the others if necessary but - ]
Mm.... Hold scarf for balance then - Принеси! Throw something for fetch to get dogs to chase so they do not fall.
[she absolutely will not let these dogs just crumble but the crumbling bridge is definitely making her nervous if they don't move faster than this]
[The fucking HOWL. But since pulling the sled seems to help a bit better, he continues to do just that, narrowly missing the fucking yeeted branch if it comes flying over his head.]
Hey! Watch where you're throwing that! [Oh, the bridge.] ...It's breaking!
[The howl continues, echoing as the dogs in front of the sled begin to howl in harmony. Several of the dogs see Toi throwing the stick and bark, jerking the sled to the side as the bridge continues to crumble. Anya should maybe help the others and make sure they grab the scarves because the dogs are torn in two different directions, Several are trying to chase the stick, and several are trying to chase after the howl.
A team of dogs is pretty strong though, and the bridge crumbles as the back of the sled begins to dip toward the river. Looking ahead, the scarves above form a series of swings that are almost vine-like leading across the bridge and through the trees. Going up? Or going down...]
[OK SINCE WE CAN ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS HOPEFULLY-- he can't help free all of them, probably, but he does have a sharp fan to try to help sever the reins, and scissors if it doesn't work? what if he just yanks a scarf toward a dog's collar. what happens.
he'll make that attempt, but after that, he's shoving his fan into his belt to reach up and grab on with one hand.]
Both of you-! Hurry!
[since anya is already holding on and all.
aaaaa he's going to hate thiiiis he's not ATHLETIC but it's HAPPENING so. he's just going to be up here now.]
[sHE REFUSES TO JUST LET THEM GO, and she's got one hand on the scarves but she's 100% not excited at all to just abandon them like nhs here,,
that said she's nervous that toi or jin ling might just straight up not grab a scarf at all so she'll grab onto toi's nondominant arm just in case since he's closer]
Jin Ling too - grab before fall! Tell dogs um - meat! Or treat! Other way!
[ the reins that nie huaisang didn't manage to cut, toi is going to pull his knife out to slice instead. he is going to do this until he really does not have time left and-- oh anya just grabbed him. ]
Whose stupid idea was this?!
[ he will, at least, make an attempt to try to grab at least uno dog, probably whichever one might be lagging more behind than the other ones, since he can't really grab multiple ones with only one arm it's fine. ]
We should have just kept going and jumped the damn bridge!
[Unfortunately, he does not have a knife. What he does have, is stubborn idiocy and a love for dogs!] We can't leave them! Hand me that! [To try to get them to focus, he gives another sharp whistle.] Back! Go back! Leave it! [And while Toi and Huaisang cut, Jin Ling bounces up to grab a hold of what scarfs and shit extra fell down for them, hopefully with Anya's help, too.
And he uses them to hastily start tying them around any dogs left if they didn't get picked up or get out of the way, and if he can once they're loose. HE ISN'T LEAVING ANY DOG BEHIND. He's wrapping every single one and yelling for more shit out of the tree until he can get the last one.
If he falls, he falls, but he isn't giving up until he's got the last dog, and then he's going to jump on Toi's waist because holy shit.]
[The scarf Huaisang's working with leashes the dog and yanks it up! It yips in surprise but the scarf swings on its own to yeet the dog and reconnect to another scarf. Goodbye! Onward it goes over the bridge and down the path. Anya and Huaisang will find the scarves are silky and sturdy, giving them enough length to swing themselves along. Time for some acrobatics practice!
The good news is that Toi frees another dog and he's holding onto it! The bad news is Jin Ling is also successful in tying up the other six dogs who are also yeeted across the bridge just like the others. However, even with Anya holding his non-dog arm, with Toi holding onto a dog and now also with Jin Ling holding onto his waist...
...down they go. The sled, Toi, Jin Ling, and the dog drop straight down toward the river. Maybe getting back on the sled will help, but bits of wood and jewelry are falling around them with the snow and flower petals. Try to steer, boys!]
nie huaisang watches them fall, clinging miserably to the scarves, shouting after them--]
Please don't die-! We can try to find you after...!
[but like, that's all he can do from up here....
he sniffles a little, shaking his head, and tentatively reaches for another scarf. too far. he guesses he doesn't have a choice but to try to swing, while he quietly laments that they can't just be taken across like the dogs.]
[you'll have to excuse her absolutely despairing yelp when, with the added weight, she's not able to hold onto toi or jin ling.]
No!!
[she's going to keep grasping at thin air as she watches them plummet, quite scared for both of them - before she hears nie's words and tries to calm herself. right. okay, there's still more to do here. she looks to all the dogs that jin ling saved and decides that she'll have faith in them to be okay.... it takes a few more calming breaths for her to work up the nerve, but then she's going to swing her way from scarf to scarf so she can get to the other side with the dogs -
and if they both make it to the other side, she's going to try to round up all the dogs so they're not wandering off,,]
[Meanwhile, he grabs a good hold of Toi's jacket and tries to force Toi to stay in the sled. He also tries to stay on it, too, but he's worried with the reins and the hand, trying to keep it upright and in control. Despite being such a huge brat, he's actually pretty good with being headstrong enough to really take it all by the horns.]
The water below! [he yells.] If it's cold, don't inhale when you hit it! [If they don't fucking die first. SANTA, PLEASE, YOUR DOG SLED.] You'll choke on the water!
[Huaisang and Anya can tarzan their way through the scarves, following the yips and confused noises of the dogs being yeeted. The scarves seem to loosen if they hold on for too long, so hopefully they're hurrying! They're all dropped on the path gently after a bit of travel where the trees thing out and the snow begins to stop following only to be replaced by a large grassy valley. At the bottom of this massive hill, there's a castle. Anya's probably smart to round up the dogs because they're definitely starting to scatter mostly in the direction of said-castle. The winter's gone and it's a spring kind of day, flowers popping up under the dogs' feet as the echoing howl continues to beckon the dogs.
Meanwhile, two morons are falling to their death. But since they're choosing to hold onto the dog, as they're nearing the bottom...
...the dog's fur expands and catches in the wind. This dog spreads out with its paws splayed, spreadeagle and acting as a parachute. The sled hits the water with a heavy sort of lop, and down the river it goes! The parachute-cloud-dog sits proudly, wagging its tail and waiting for praise.
You're welcome.
Now that they're zipping along this river though, they may notice that the water seems to glisten almost like it's glittery? A closer look will reveal that there seem to be sequins embedded at the bottom, rhinestone-river rocks in the way. They're still going to have to steer the sled, but they may want to figure out what to do next as they go on a whitewater raft trip.]
Oh- it looks a little like home... I wonder where this is meant to be.
[mountainous areas are nice, ok... he glances behind them with a worried little frown, then shakes his head and tries to help anya herd the dogs along toward this castle.]
... they'll be all right. Jin Ling has survived worse, I'm sure.
